SESSION III - HOW SUPPLY CHAIN RELATIONSHIPS ARE ALTERED: STRATEGIC VALUE AND FUTURE PROSPECTS FOR THE AGRI-FOOD SECTOR

The seriousness of the economic crisis deriving from the spread of the Covid-19 virus is going to heavily affect the agri-food supply chains of the domestic market and especially exports.

There will be consequences on the assortment and prices of food products, whereas the serious loss of the Ho.re.ca. sector has negative repercussions on high added value fresh products that often come from short supply chains and high-quality certified chains, such as those of Geographical Indication products.

The purpose of the discussion is to analyse the lockdown impact on agri-food supply chains to identify the successful strategies implemented by companies and European and domestic agricultural policy measures strengthening the production chain. It will also host a discussion panel on the European Green Deal and the farm to fork strategy to identify the goals and the possible impacts on agri-food supply chains.
