SESSION IV - RESTARTING THE RIGHT WAY: SUSTAINABILITY AND INNOVATION AS A RESPONSE TO THE EMERGENCY

The agri-food supply chain has played an essential role in the emergency period by reacting with strength to the crisis effects. But it is now faced with epoch-making challenges that go beyond the current emergency: food poverty, sustainable transformation of the entire supply chain, enhancement of identity and local agriculture.

To deal with these challenges, the agri-food supply chain can and must rely on innovation – through the paradigms of smart agrifood (precision agriculture, traceability, etc.) – at 3 levels: external configuration (products/services/channels), skills and internal organisation, supply chain.
